1991-1997-Carpenter- The Beginning of my career - I worked as a journeyman carpenter in the Gallatin Valley, before attending MSU in 1998.

1997-2003- Montana State University-Engineering and Architecture College - I earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology,  and my wife earned her Masters Degree in Architecture during this time period.

2003-2006- Large Construction

Moved to the Bay Area after graduation and worked on very large civil projects in the Bay Area and Salt Lake City.

2006-2020 - Vertical Construction

Superintendent and Project Manager in both Commercial and Large Residential Structures-  During this time I worked in Montana and Colorado- notable projects during this period include Whitefish City Hall and Parking Structure,  and Rankin Elementary.  Both of these projects were around $14 million with a 14 month schedule each.

Project Management/Superintendent & Administrative Responsibilities include; Project Management, Site Superintendent, contract administration and modifications, Precedent Scheduling with CPM Milestones, Estimating (Hard Bid, Special Project Proposals), Change Orders, Submittals, and Crew Supervision/Construction-Total Station lay out for excavating, concrete, steel, and steel stud walls.  All estimating and pricing.

Project Manager Responsibilities include pre-construction planning, precedent scheduling with CPM Milestones, Resource allocation with placement of manpower and equipment, equipment mobilization (Heavy Equipment Transport incorporating Federal and Local Safe Work/Transport Practices, Inspections and Modifications), Crew Supervision performing utility construction placement ,responsibilities include management of excavation/trenching crews with Safe Work Practices including confined space, Shoring, Benching and  Sloping, Directional Drilling, Proper PPE, & Equipment Inspection. Field Engineer/ Estimator

Field Engineer and Estimator responsibilities included, crew supervision and sub contractor supervision of utility construction by means of Jacking and Boring, and trenching.  Utilities were often placed under a live rail line, and Railroad Safety Procedures were implemented (Flagger, Point Of Contact, Form B, RWP), Construction included storm drain, waterline, fiber, manholes, and Signal Houses.  Administrative tasks included submittals, project meetings, change orders, document control, bid comparison sheets, estimating (HCSS), cost control and quality control.

UTA Frontrunner Commuter Rail North Extension from Ogden to Salt Lake City, 2004-2006, $ 270 Million.
